History Trinity Baptist School was established in 1974 as an educational ministry of Trinity Baptist Church. The student body has grown from thirteen students the first year to an annual student body of approximately one hundred students. Philosophy The home, church, and school cooperate and work together to develop God’s plan for each child. Our entire school program is designed to help parents fulfill the command of God to lead their children to a saving faith and continual growth in our Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is the basis of all our education and is foundational in the ministry of the school. Therefore, we believe that there is no separation between the secular and the sacred. To the Christian, every task is sacred; and every word and deed ought to be done to the glory of the Lord. Whether in Bible class, in the science laboratory, in language study, on the ball field, or in the classroom, all should be done to the best of our ability and to His glory. As a result, we do not believe any student should be asked to accept a second-rate academic program in order to receive a Christian education. Purpose
Affiliations TBS is a member of the American Association of Christian School, New England Association of Christian Schools, Christian School of Vermont, and the Vermont Principal’s Association. Student Life In the interest of training students with a well-rounded outlook upon life, we encourage all students to participate in church activities, family activities, and various school activities. Extra-curricular school activities involve athletic competition on the varsity level in soccer, volleyball, and basketball. Students also have the opportunity to participate in school plays and programs, yearbook, fine arts and academic competitions, class trips, field trips, and other activities that will help facilitate a well-rounded Christian education. Academics Trinity Baptist School offers a K-12 program with students being instructed in traditional classroom settings. All students are required to take standardized tests each year. Graduating seniors repeatedly score above the national and state averages on college entrance tests. Each of the TBS teachers has at least a bachelor’s degree and several have master’s degrees. The average experience of the full-time teachers is over twenty years. |
